To make this wine Chardonnay grapes were sourced from a single premium Wairau Valley vineyard. Lying in the heart of the Wairau Valley, the Summerhouse vineyard soil is a mixture of gravel and sandy loam areas with bony rocky areas, extremely free draining. Stunningly healthy and flavoursome grapes always come off this block reflecting the care and interest taken by the owners in this unique vineyard.

A restrained and elegant style of chardonnay combining stone fruit and citrus characters with a lifted clean finish.

English immigrant Edward Tyrrell established Tyrrell's Wines in 1858 in the lee of the Hunter Valley's Brokenback Range, New South Wales. This land has become recognised as home to some of the Hunter Valley regions finest vineyards, and the basis for development of one of Australia's most successful privately owned wine companies.

Today, Tyrrell's are a truly national wine company, premium vineyards extend from their legendary home in the Hunter Valley to other distinguished grape growing regions of Australia including McLaren Vale in South Australia and Heathcote in Victoria.

Fourth generation family member and Managing Director, Bruce Tyrrell heads this winemaking company that boasts well established, popular and highly recognisable wine brands that are exported to over 30 countries worldwide. His children, the fifth generation of the Tyrrell family, are involved in the family business, illustrating that this iconic Hunter Valley winery will continue to be Australian owned well into the future.

Tyrrell's Wines was awarded Winery Of The Year by James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion Edition 2010.
