Expert Reviews

This red is spot on. It’s smooth, chocolatey, rich with blackberried fruit flavour and balanced, perfectly, from go to whoa. It has just the right amount of showy oak, just the right amount of richness, and encourages just the right amount of warm good feeling. There are eucalypt notes too and sturdy but not obtrusive tannin. It’s excellent.Rating 92 - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front (7/NOV/2010)

Lovely nose smelling of rich fruit cake. Beautiful, rich, ripe, warm and toasty palate ,soft and flavoursome in the mouth with a dry tannic finish. 4 Stars & Best of new release, Winestate Magazine(1/SEP/2010)

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Vivid purple with a violet hue.

An elegant, lifted nose of bramble and fleshy raspberry with subtle hints of violets, clove and cedar.

Food Matching

The consummate partner for this wine is slowly braised lamb or veal shanks (and take the extra time to prepare some gremolata as a finishing touch). If slow braising is not in your repertoire, drink it whilst gnawing the meat or a T-Bone steak.
