The 2005 Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Port is excellent drinking now but will also develop very well in bottle.
The grapes are harvested by hand and taken to the winery where the foot treading takes place. Fermentation lasts from 3 to 5 days, resulting in an excellent extract. The wine is then aged at Vila Nova de Gaia, in vats with a capacity of approximately 15,000 litres. The final blend was put together in April, 2009 and bottled in November of the same year. Late Bottled Vintage 2005 is a traditional LBV, unfiltered and not subject to any hot or cold treatments, therefore preserving the full potential of the fruit while allowing for long ageing.
