Duas Quintas is a great match with grilled meats, salad, cured meats and poultry dishes. Open one hour prior to service at 15-18 degrees Celsius.
Duas Quintas 2007 has the potential to mature 5-6 years in the bottle.
This wine is a blend of wines from Duas Quintas (literally means two estates): Quinta da Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares. Quinta da Ervamoira, located on the Douro superior on the left bank of the Douro River where it meets the Coa River, is Ramos Pinto’s experimental vineyard.
The grapes are handpicked in 150-kilo crates, pressed, destalked and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Maceration continues for long enough to produce a wine with the desired body and structure. Following malolactic fermentation in vats, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and the rest remains in the steel vats. The wine is bottled 18 months later.
