Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling 2009 “Heady, floral and perfumed, with a musky scent of white flowers, lavender, lime juice, green apple and lemon pith, this very refined and naturally balanced riesling reveals layers of crystal-clear fruit underpinned by very fine, chalky phenolics. It’s beautifully focused, with a piercing presence of flavour that streamlines tightly towards a fresh, zesty finish of brittle, citrusy acids. Exceptionally long and classy.” Rating 97 - Jeremy Oliver (FEB/2010)
Stonier `Reserve` Chardonnay 2012 A blend of vineyards all planted in the mid-'80s or earlier; whole bunch-pressed, fermented in barrel and puncheon (20-25% new), blended after 9 months, followed by a further 5 months in barrel as a blend; 60% mlf. The most complex of the Stonier '12 Chardonnays in both texture and fruit-weight and ripeness; here melon and fig join the flavours of the other wines, and the creamy cashew notes are more obvious. Rating 95 - Drink by 2018 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2014)
Stonier `Reserve` Pinot Noir 2012 Made from 6 vineyards in the Merricks, Main Ridge and Red Hill districts; destemmed and open-fermented in small pots, kept as separate lots for 9 months in French oak (25% new), then a further 5 months as a blend. Shares the brilliant clarity of colour of each of its siblings, with a fractionally deeper hue than that of Windmill; the perfumed, flower and spice bouquet leads into an intricately detailed palate, alive with red fruits, stretching from the fore-palate through to the finish and aftertaste in an unbroken stream. Rating 96 - Drink by 2025 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2014)
St Hallett `The Reward` Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Cabernet doesn't always shine in the Barossa Valley as well as it does here, particularly if your perception is bedded in cool Aus regions; here savoury tannins run through blackcurrant fruit, with touches of forest, leaf and leather all hanging together well. Rating 94 - Drink by 2027 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (AUG/2014)
Tatachilla 'Foundation' Shiraz 2013 It’s known as one of McLaren Vale’s heavy hitters but truth is walks a pretty sensible line. Heft of flavour is significant but it’s not out of balance and it feels fresh. This is a very good release. Saltbush, anise, sweet plums and an infusion of chocolatey oak make both a statement, and for an eminent drinkability. Positive impressions throughout. Rating 93+ - Drink 2017-2028 - Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front
