This is the third release of Peter Jorgensen’s Show Reserve Epiphany Shiraz and is another outstanding example of Barossa Shiraz from premium old vineyards. It combines skillful hand crafted winemaking to produce a highly complex and powerful wine.
The “Epiphany” label is reserved for premium wines produced in seasons that display particular fruit qualities prior to harvest. At the core of all Epiphany Shiraz is premium vineyard management and minimal intervention winemaking. The resulting wines are limited quantity batches of natural wines with minimal filtration or additives. This wine will take time to evolve to allow all elements to become integrated. It will continue the aging process in bottle and, as a result, may develop a light crust over time. We recommend 60 minutes breathing time or decanting prior to consuming.

Winery Tasting Notes
The colour is deep inky red /black through the core with dark amethyst and violet hues glimmering on the rim.
The bouquet is powerfully intense with fleshy dark plum and rhubarb fruit at the fore giving way to smoky bacon and rich earthy characters. The alcohol is apparent but very well balanced adding a lift to the subtle aromas of fine oak, delicate licorice spice and black pepper.
The opening is soft but intense with clean, ripe dark berry fruits while the middle palate explodes with flavour, a combination of black fruit, subtle oak notes, vanilla and licorice spice with sweet alcohol that lingers all through the back palate finishing with firm but nicely integrated fine tannins and a long savoury finish. This wine is a sensual feast that lingers in anticipation of the next sip.
A wine of this caliber is an experience in itself. It will be at home with fine dining or simply pour a generous serve into a tall, wide bowled glass, allow it to breathe for 20 minutes and indulge in an organoleptic feast for the senses. Try it with a starter of Foie Gras on water crackers followed by rare roast lamb with seeded mustard, steamed asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes.
This wine is a powerhouse with enormous aging potential, an excellent oak regime and with a careful cellar maturation before release. As a complex wine it will continue to develop in the bottle for many years to come and will be enjoyed on many wonderful ocassions. It is a worthy companion in any cellar.
