Overview

This 100% Pinot Noir wine was grown in the Neuquen province of Argentina in Patagonia, known as one of the most remote and pristine environments on the planet. While Patagonia conjures up images of the epic Andes and glacial flows, the best Pinot grows inland on the remote flat grass plains. One of the unlikely contributors to the success of Pinot Noir here is the wind which keeps the berries small and the skins thick.

Winery Profile

Pinto horses, which have distinctive coats comprised of large patches, were among the various breeds of horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors. Pintos have subsequently become an important part of Argentine Goucho, or cowboy, culture. The vast Patagonian grasslands, once home to the Gouchos, are today producing world-class Pinot Noir.
