Our Chardonnay winemaking philosophy at Peter Lehmann is about making a delicate, soft refreshing style with the accent very much on letting the fruit flavours come to the fore. It is a beautifully balanced and restrained wine with excellent soft fruit definition: a stylish and elegant face of Chardonnay.

Winery Tasting Notes
A delicate pale lemon colour.
The wine shows fresh white peach, a hint of fig and some barrel complexity on the nose.
It is a beautifully balanced and restrained wine with excellent soft fruit definition: a stylish and elegant face of Chardonnay.
This wine in its vibrant youth, or with careful cellaring, it will continue to develop in the bottle for a further 5 years.
It makes a splendid accompaniment to roast chicken or pork & creamy pasta dishes.
The 2009 vintage started early with a week of hot weather. Following this, the weather settled down to an extended spell of warm, dry days & cool nights producing wines with excellent colour & flavour. 15% of the fruit underwent wild ferment in new French oak hogsheads, the balance was fermented cold in stainless steel, then the components were matured for a further 6 months on yeast lees.
