Overview

The Marlborough region's ancient alluvial plains, dry river beds and cool maritime climate produce these wines of distinction.

The stony soils create a mosaic of Marlborough sub-regions, some littered with smooth pebbles known as 'greywacke'.

These pebbles drifted down the Braided River systems over millions of years forming a bay of pebble and rock.

The vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau valleys reach into these soils generating wines of distinctive and pure flavours.
