Expert Reviews

Bless the Oxford Landing team! They work so hard at growing grapes and making wine so you can snaffle this mind-blowing, zesty grapefruit and lemon blossom thing...Don't be caught dead or alive with anything else at this miserly price.Rating 91 - Tyson Stelzer, tysonstelzer.com (04/MAR/2011)

The best bargain Sauvignon on the shelves just got better. Made to drink rather than a style simply to sell. Harvested at the perfect moment of ripeness to capture zesty lemon and grapefruit without herbal or tropical distractions. Layers of zesty freshness, Good length and fresh, zesty lemon blossom lift.Rating 91 - Tyson Stelzer, Wine100 (OCT/2010)

This is consistently good and great value for less than $10. In 2010 it is fresh, clean and lively, with an intensity of ripe, tangy tropical flavours.GOOD -Peter Forrestal, Quaff 2011 (SEP/2010)

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Pale straw with a light green hue.

Aroma

The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc has zesty notes of freshly cut grass and kiwifruit.

Palate

Lively and varietal flavours of gooseberry and stinging nettles tantalise the palate with hints of tropical fruit punch and passionfruit. An abundance of flavours, complemented with refreshing natural and mineral acidity.

Winemaking Note

A relatively cool December and January allowed for optimal ripening conditions. Flavours developed evenly allowing for harvest at optimal ripeness in late January and early February. The more fertile sites are chosen for Sauvignon Blanc to ensure full and healthy canopies which provide the perfect protected micro-climate to allow for optimal flavour development with reduced fruit exposure.

Brand Profile Image

Oxford Landing Estates was established in 1958 on the banks of the mighty Murray River in South Australia amidst bountiful sunshine, vivid blue skies and plenty of red Riverland soil.

From planting vines to making wines, Oxford Landing Estates takes great pride in their people – some having spent their whole life on the Murray. They are part of a community who are unashamedly passionate about the vineyards, grapes and working together to ensure the wine going into the bottle is what they envisaged.

“Our group of dedicated vineyard staff live on-site and nearby. It’s their care and attention to detail that sets the basis for Oxford Landing Estates wine quality,” says Vineyard Manager Robert ‘Fred’ Strachan.
