The Food

Tropical fruit, gooseberry, citrus – the intense fruit in Sauvignon Blanc means this wine can hold its own with the most flavoursome foods. The spices and fresh herbs in Asian dishes make for an ideal combination. Alternatively the delicate flavours of shellfish are a delightful match with Sauvignon Blanc’s citrus zing.

And if you don’t feel like cooking… a glass of crisp refreshing Omrah Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect aperitif.

The Mood

Is there anything more refreshing than a crisp, fresh white wine on a summer’s day? Warm sun, soft breeze, great company, an occasional dip in the pool, fresh food and a perfectly chilled glass of Omrah Sauvignon Blanc …life just doesn’t get better than that. Cheers!

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Omrah is the pure taste of the Great Southern region. For the wine drinker who loves to discover something different and a little special, Omrah is pure wine drinking pleasure from the pristine southern tip of Western Australia.

Omrah was named after a vineyard, which was named after a boat! The SS Omrah brought passengers from England to Albany in the Great Southern region of Western Australia in the early 1900’s. One of the early passengers decided to pay homage to the ship by naming his property Omrah. Vines were later planted on the property and the first Omrah wine was made with chardonnay purchased from the Omrah Vineyard in 1989.

Omrah was the first chardonnay in Australia made with no oak (yes, in 1989 unoaked chardonnay was a little out there!). However, the style caught on and today wine lovers all over the world love the crisp fresh taste of unoaked chardonnay. Now more than 20 years on, Omrah has a stylish new label and an energetic young team with a passion for the Great Southern region. Open Omrah and you can trust that the occasion just became special…
