Overview

Fruit for this rosé was sourced primarily from the Great Southern of the south western region of Western Australia. Our Rocky Horror vineyard is the cornerstone for this particular wine, with Shiraz and Merlot growing on free draining ironstone gravel loam soils planted with a perfect northerly aspect and grown to exacting standards.

Aroma

Cherry, strawberry and raspberry notes with an underlying minerality.

Palate

A succulent rosé, with a refreshing mouthful of fruity flavours tasting like a bowl of summer pudding with a juicy lip-smacking finish like a mouth cleansing sorbet.

Plantagenet takes its name not only from its home, but also from its heritage. In 1968 in a stroke of serendipity English migrant Tony Smith, himself a descendent of the Plantagenet's, invested his small inheritance in a farm called Bouverie in Western Australia’s Plantagenet Shire.

He first planted Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon followed by Riesling three years later.

The first wines from these young vines were tight and lean and showed the elegant spice and fruit characters for which this area was to become known.
