2013 was a drought year, resulting in super low crops with fabulous intensity. Shiraz revels in tough conditions and it was in it’s element. The concentration on the vine, has followed through into the resultant wines.

From vines 7-70yo. The dense crimson-purple colour accurately semaphores a plush, rich and complex full-bodied palate that does not go over the top; dark fruits mesh perfectly with dark chocolate, the tannins plentiful, but soft and round; the balance and length can't be faulted. A long life ahead. Rating 95 - Drink by 2038, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2015).
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep maroon in colour.
Plummy fruit on the nose, backed up by generous spice, dark chocolate and toasty oak.
Showing the plentiful tannins of the dry vintage, they are in perfect balance with the delicious layers of dark fruit, mocha and cocoa. This is a wine to bring to roast night at mum’s house!
