Mitchelton Blackwood Park Botrytis Riesling is sourced from two estate blocks adjacent to the Goulburn River. These locations are conducive to Autumn morning mists, encouraging the growth of Botrytis cinerea (Noble Rot) which dehydrates the berries effectively concentrating the natural sugar and acidity.
- VIC - Other Victorian
Luscious lips riesling. Full-on sweetness and flavour. Apricot jam, candied orange, sugar-packed citrus and sweet/bitter marmalade notes. Not a lot of length but a whole lot of mid-palate. Will be popular at the cellar door. Rating 89 - Drink by 2017, CM, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2014)
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep gold in colour.
The wine delivers complex aromas of orange blossom, mandarin peel and hints of cinnamon spice.
The decadently textured palate bursts with intense flavours of lime marmalade, sweet fig and delicate threads of spice to create a
crisp style of dessert wine with a lingering and refreshing finish.
Pair this wine with a poached citrus parfait.
