Overview

Airstrip blends Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier together in a medley of vibrant stone fruit flavours with good crisp dry balance and texture. The wine is named after the source block on the estate which was once a landing area for light aircraft. It is the embodiment of a well structured wine which balances the unique qualities of the individual varieties.

Expert Reviews

The three varieties come from a low-vigour site, and parcels are barrel-fermented separately in French oak, then matured in that oak for 8 months before blending trials take place. The overall flavour and balance is good, the oak not dominant, and there is a savoury flourish on the finish that works well. James Halliday, Rating 92, 26th July 2014
