Very pale with a light green edge. Classic straw and lemon Semillon aromas with supporting lightly spicy, nutty oak.

Pale straw-green: while 100% barrel-fermented, the bouquet and palate focus on the lemon, apple and herb fruit, the oak a vehicle to give the wine its excellent texture, structure and balance.
Rating 94 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAY/2012)
The run of convincing, complex Horrocks Semillon continues here, with plenty of waxy lemon-citrus fruit on the nose, along with some crusty sourdough bread, lime peel and spice. The palate has an exotic twist: lime-cooler flavours run even and deep. Very tangy and taut to close.
Rating 92 - Nick Stock - Good Wine Guide 2012
This Clare Valley Semillon is a regional benchmark. Although 100 per cent barrel-fermented, the oak is well controlled, and its toasty, spicy inputs don’t obscure lovely lemon and floral varietal fruit. It’s clean-tasting, subtle and dry with a middleweight, tangy palate, attractive freshness and a long signature.
Ageing : Drink over four years
Food Ideas: Pan-fried fish with lemon butter sauce.

Winery Tasting Notes
Youthful, bright and lime edged in the glass.
Appealing and generous aroma, with archetypal herb, lemon rind and spice notes, supported by hints of oak-derived vanilla and nut.
In a word: delicious. Harvested at the ideal moment where fruit flavour has developed fully, without being over-ripe, and with the variety’s crisp acid structure still intact. A mouthfilling wine that, whilst packing a punch of flavour, retains balance and poise through the deft use of French oak. It shows lemon curd, straw and herbal characters, a creamy yet bright mouthfeel and a flavoursome, long clean finish.
Brilliant food wine, ready to go now yet will cellar well for five to eight years.
