Winery Tasting Notes

The 2012 Steel's Hill pinot noir is made from fruit grown at Woori Yallock, only a few kilometres south of the Medhurst vineyard. The winemaking is exactly the same as for the Medhurst Estate pinot noir, except that we only use old French Oak barriques for fermentation and maturation, allowing the bright fruit flavours to shine through. Bright and spicy pinot deserves some spicy and fully-flavoured food, so cook up some chorizo-ladened paella and dig in.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Medhurst Wines is the realisation of the long held and shared vision of Ross and Robyn Wilson to own a property in the Yarra Valley and produce high quality wines. The vineyard site was chosen for its favourable micro-climate, north facing slopes, good drainage and magnificent aspect. With the sole objective of making the best wine possible, careful vineyard management ensures yields are low, averaging two tonnes per acre and providing intensely flavoured fruit.
