Overview

Classic Vosne-Romanée – slightly more depth to the colour, perfumed lift, silk and satin mouth feel, but with underlying black/red fruit power. The tannins are fine-laced and almost hidden - bedded into the fruit. Flavour freshness with vivacity, which indicates more time will be beneficial. The oak is transparent at this stage, but will only add to the framework over time. Like all serious village wines, it will be soothing and graceful with age.

Expert Reviews

50% new oak. Deep red/purple colour. Fresh and lively black cherry and spice aromas, a voluminous wine in the mouth with big structure and masses of supple tannins. Cherry, violet and other flowers. Terrific length. A sensational wine.” Rating 96 - Huon Hooke, www.huonhooke.com

“Not cheap for a village level wine, but hey, it’s very good. Also, comes with a screwcap, which is worth a whole lot more. Creamy spicy oak, exotic perfume, some earthy bass notes, cherry, florals – a riot of smells and flavours. It’s medium bodied with a good volume of fruit, ripe persistent tannin, freshness, length and, importantly, leave you feeling happy and Burgundy contented. Needs some time, but it’s a ripper release.” Rating 95 - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
