Expert Reviews

“50% new oak. Bright red/purple colour and a lovely, fresh cherry perfume that jumps out of the glass. Bright and alive in the mouth. Delicious, with superb balance and vitality. Excellent wine.” Rating 95 - Huon Hooke, www.huonhooke.com

“Bio-dynamic with all that racking on the full moon stuff, which is nonsense of course, though the organic/low intervention side is great. Screwcap even better. Sweet spicy cinnamon oak, dark cherries, touch of earthiness – but an aromatic style. Medium bodied, fresh and straight with almost glace cherry fruit, spice and a sweep of gentle grainy tannin. More of that fetching Gevrey earthiness is revealed with air. Plenty of length. Such a good vintage. Touch and go for 95 Points.” Rating 94 - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Winery Tasting Notes

Fresh, moderate weight and brisk acid. Red fruited (rather than black fruited), dark stone and contained, with fine, tightly held swirling tannins.

The oak is sophisticated, but is still youthful and evident, which will soften and integrate in the medium term. Refined flavour and savoury fruit profile - needs time at this stage, but will gather momentum given some opportunity.
