The zone for Nebbiolo d’Alba takes in the hills above (north of) Alba and a fair way south and includes the Barolo zone – but not Barbaresco. Generally, these vines will be planted on less favourable exposures or soils than the Nebbiolo for Barolo itself, or might also be from new plantings. They are generally lighter and more readily accessible; an introduction to Barolo, perhaps?

Winery Tasting Notes
This Nebbiolo’s offer a look at the structure and some of the complexities; characters of raisin, bitter chocolate, prune and fennel of this variety and even some of the firm tannins. So it needs a little breathing to show its best.
With the elegant structure and tannins of Nebbiolo, food can be quite rich and firm, earthy elements of mushroom work really well. This can still be a relaxed wine able to go with lots of food.
