“The wine opens with red-purple colour and is full of attractive plum and blackberry fruit on the bouquet, leading into a strongly textured and structured palate, with black fruits, licorice, pepper and spice all woven through quite strong tannins. It has the balance to age very well, and needs to be left alone for 2-3 years, then drink it over a decade.”
Rating 92 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2013
“All the flavours here are in beautiful working order. Fresh cherries and black plums, woody spices and creamy, coffeed vanilla. Oak and fruit and chewy tannin all work in harmony. It’s not a blockbusterstyle shiraz, but it’s not what you’d call whimpy either. It has a sturdiness but most especially is has a lively drinkability. It’s one for the buy list. Drink 2012-2016.”

Winery Tasting Notes
A rich, dark, cherry red wine with great colour density.
The wine displays aromas of black pepper spice, ripe plum compote, five spice powder and toasty oak.
This full-bodied wine is driven by concentrated fruit flavours of chocolate and black morello cherries which are complexed by subtle savoury textures and fine, soft tannins.
Will drink well now and will develop complex aging characters of rich earth, leather and forest floor over the next 5 years.
