Lifted ripe fruit aromas of cherries & stewed plums with scents reminiscent of cinnamon, cloves & allspice. Generous, round, plum/cherry fruit flavours; great structure of soft, mouth-filling tannins with Marzemino's classic, fine bitterness reminiscent of quinine on the finish.

Good depth and hue for age. Hmmm — not hard to see why this already has six years in bottle, for it has the tannins of an octopus, simultaneously grabbing all corners of the mouth: so for a start, food is essential. Once at hand, this could be a seriously interesting wine. Rating 89 - Drink by 2020 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2011)
