100% pinot noir is hand sorted and macerated for anything from 12 to 72 hours, depending on the ripeness of the fruit, until the colour is fixed and the aroma resembles freshly picked raspberries. The timing is so crucial that legend has it that the first chef de cave, Edouard Leclerc, slept by the tank to stop it before it turned into red wine! Aged at least 4 years on lees. Approximately 9g/L dosage.
Laurent-Perrier Rosé has achieved that elusive ideal of volume and finesse; the world’s best-selling rosé champagne epitomises the ultra-restraint of its finest expressions. All the more remarkable for the challenging (and less delicate) method of saignée. Its hue reflects the pale salmon/pomegranate of its label. Laced with savoury notes of wild strawberries and pink peppercorns, it’s a lively, fresh and fine style with a long finish of cherry and strawberry fruit, completed with a very fine bead and soft, underlying pinot noir minerality. Blended from ten different crus or villages considered to be among the finest villages in Champagne, including Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois and Tours-sur-Marne.
Bright, salmon-pink in colour.
Precise and very crisp with a lasting impression of freshness, it has hints of fresh red fruits, such as strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries.
Intensely fruity flavours begin clean and well-defined upon entry, the wine then opens up to provide a melange of flavours consisting of fresh strawberries, raspberries and wild cherries. It has great length and is rounded and supple on the finish.
Serve between 8°C and 10°C. The Cuvée Rosé Brut makes a delicious apéritif. It pairs very well with charcuterie and poultry, and is an extraordinary match for red fruit desserts. The more daring will try it with Asian cuisine.
