Appellation: Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru A.C. Côte de Beaune, Bourgogne, France.

Some of the world’s greatest white wines originate from the village of Puligny-Montrachet, the latter part of its name referring to its most reputed. The parcel or climat of « Hameau de Blagny » is situated on a well-exposed slope beside a cluster of houses called the Hamlet of Blagny. The wine has a refined, aristocratic bouquet and rich, luscious aromas, accompanied by a hint of acidity. The finish is lingering.

Expert Reviews

As one would reasonably expect, this is more aromatically elegant with airy white flower and pear aromas dissolving into understated, focused and still tight middle weight flavors that finish with punch and brimming with evident minerality. This is a wine of finesse not power and I really like the underlying sense of harmony and transparency as the stoniness really shines through. Rating 91 - Burghound.com (JUL/2008)

The Latour 2006 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny (from purchased juice) is surprisingly soft and fruit-dominated for a wine from notoriously stony, high elevation. Peachy and rich on the palate, it boasts satisfying length and admirable polish…Rating 87-88 Wine Advocate (DEC/2008)

The family-run company of Maison Louis Latour is one of the most highly-respected négociant-éléveurs in Burgundy. Renowned throughout the world for the quality of its red and white wines, the company has built a reputation for tradition and innovation.

Regarded as one of the traditional négociant-éléveurs, Maison Louis Latour is the producer of some of the finest Burgundian wines but has also pioneered the production of fine wines from outside of the confines of Burgundy.

These wines from the Ardèche and the Côteaux de Verdon are slowly gaining esteem for their unmatchable quality outside of Burgundy.

Maison Louis Latour respects Burgundian traditions for the vinification of its red wines from the harvest to the final product. Only the finest grapes are selected and placed into traditional French oak vats for a short period of fermentation.

Maison Louis Latour is the oldest remaining, family-run winegrower/merchant in Burgundy. It has achieved this enviable position by a readiness to change with the times and by staying at the forefront of innovation in winemaking and marketing.

In 1999, the sixth Louis Latour, passed the running of the business into the hands of his son, Louis-Fabrice. Since joining in 1989, Louis-Fabrice has introduced new management skills and ideas. He is a strong advocate of the family philosophy of integrating modern innovations with the best of established traditions. According to Louis-Fabrice, it is an unwritten rule in the family that each generation should leave something new for future generations. His unwavering commitment to quality will continue Maison Louis Latour’s already well-established reputation.
