As far as we know, La Linea made their first Australian Tempranillo rosé back in 2007, with fruit from a block of vines near Echunga in the central Adelaide Hills. Over several years this vineyard had demonstrated powerful intensity of perfume and fine structure, perfect for rosé. They saw the potential to make a unique wine that spoke of its variety and origins, while being downright delicious. A great combination!

Winery Tasting Notes

Quite pale.

Red apples, musk, fresh raspberries and the Turkish Delight which is a trademark aroma of Tempranillo from some special (and cool) sites.

A textured yet vibrant mid-palate is backed up by that pleasantly drying tannin and fresh acidity. And of course it remains bone dry.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

La Linea is a partnership of experienced wine industry professionals, including Peter Leske and David LeMire MW. Peter was among the first to recognise the potential of Tempranillo in Australia, and his knowledge of it is reflected in the three wine styles made from the variety: Tempranillo Rose, the Tempranillo blended from several Adelaide Hills vineyards, and Norteno, from a single vineyard at the northern end of the Hills. Two Rieslings are produced under the Vertigo label: TRKN (short for trocken), and the off-dry 25GR (25 g/l residual sugar). James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
