A 65/35% blend that is delightfully crisp and crunchy, the undertow of minerally acidity running below the more sedate guava and gooseberry flavours, a twist of Meyer lemon on the finish the cream on the cake. Leeuwin Estate—5 star winery. Rating 92 points - James Halliday’s Wine Companion Magazine, June/July 2014
“ A fresh and zesty SBS of impeccable varietal definition, holding beautiful freshness more than a year after harvest. Lemon zest accents are supported by tense acidity and soft, finely textured structure, thanks to one-third fermentation in old barrels. It elegantly fulfils the brief of achieving textural mouth feel without a hint of oak flavour.”Rating 92 - Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste
“Vibrant, fresh and zingy little sav blanc Semillon. Opens with crunchy passionfruit and light tropical grassy edges. The palate is crisp and pure with a light snow-pea edge of herbaceousness on the finish. Lovely easy drinking style of wine." 90 points. Ray Jordan, The West Australian, 31 July 2014
Winery Tasting Notes
Savoury, fragrant and complex, a myriad of aromats and primary fruits meet, expressed through grapefruit, lemon pith, honeydew melon with cut hay, lemon thyme, gun flint and cardamom pod.
The palate has a soft, integrated and textural entry; figs, quince, lemon flesh and Golden Delicious apples are the feature. A touch of cream and sweet spice provide a three-dimensional palate. Fermentation in older French barriques enhances its width and length.
The rebranded Siblings label celebrates the family lineage of Leeuwin, with three generations of the founding family now leaving their footprints on the development of the Estate.
