Expert Reviews

Smoky oak, violets, roasted meat, blackberry and Asian all-spice blend to form a beguiling bouquet; the palate is multi-layered and amazingly silky with black fruits swamping the considerable oak with ease; incredibly complex, lacy and engaging from start to finish. Rating 96 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion Edition 2011

Winemaking Note

A cooler start to the 2008 season followed by dry conditions at harvest resulted in low yields with small berries and bunches. Fruit was hand-harvested and then gently de-stemmed and crushed and berry sorted. Maceration was gentle and lasted for about 3 weeks. The wine was aged in new and 1 year old oak for 8 months.
