“2011 McLaren Vale Shiraz is a lesson in not pre-judging the quality of vintages” Huon Hooke
The conditions leading up to the 2011 vintage were extremely favourable with some of the best rainfall seen for more than a decade. The summer was mild early, reminiscent of 2002 and 2004. The season’s vintage was against trend with budburst, flowering and harvest starting about 3 weeks later than average. Whilst most Australian wine regions experienced widespread rain during the summer it was later coming to McLaren Vale. As a result we managed to bring in our premium parcels of Shiraz, Cabernet and Chardonnay early and before the rain. These parcels have produced exceptional wines.

Winery Tasting Notes
The colour is dense deep red with garnet hues.
Aromas of lifted spicy dark fruits of cherry and plum.
Great depth of flavour with loads of vibrant spicy, juicy black currant and plum. 2011 gave us wonderful natural structure and elegance together with an abundance of silky tannins complemented with nicely integrated oak resulting in great length of flavour.
Enjoy now and over the next 5-8 years.
