This wine over delivers on true Cabernet Sauvignon varietal characteristics.
A beautifully made wine to be enjoyed on all occasions and always with good friends!
- SA - McLaren Vale
- South Australia
McLaren Vale has long shown its affinity with cabernet, coming up with varietally expressive wines more easily than the Barossa or Clare Valleys (beware of generalisations); this is a good example with blackcurrant fruit and a gently earthy/herbal twist on the finish linked to the varietal tannin profile. It is from nine vineyards, matured in 50/50% French and American oak (25% new, the remainder used hogsheads). James Halliday, Rating 92, 27th July 2015
Winery Tasting Notes
This wine over-delivers on true Cabernet Sauvignon varietal characteristics. The nose shows a lovely herbaceousness with hints of paprika and cassis.
Blackcurrant/cassis is dominant on the palate with gentle menthol notes and hints of sweet cooked beetroot. Sweet soft tannins marry well with the fruit and deliver a bright lively finish.
