John and I are on a constant learning curve in the vineyard. Each of our four vintages released so far has been very different. The weather conditions in January & February 2008 enabled full and early flavour development. We handpicked the grapes over three days from selected parts of the vineyard.
In the winery the grapes underwent preferment cold maceration, natural primary ferment and malo then 12 months in French oak ~ 20% new. The wine was then bottled using the stelvin closure.

Deep purple red
The Kennedy Shiraz opens with a complex aroma of spices, nutmeg, black pepper, rich dried fruit and herbs.
The palate initially savoury and spicy offers up dark berry fruits in the mid palate before finishing with soft gentle dry tannins. A subtle restrained Heathcote Shiraz lovely to drink now but will continue to develop in the bottle.
