The palate is surprisingly complex and still punching above its weight, with cassis, menthol and eucalyptus flavours dominating. This wine is refreshingly clean with a medium body and fantastic palate presence.

In the glass this wine has a deep black colour with a purple hue.


The wine has a lifted floral perfume that is backed up by characters of cedar, cranberry, spearmint and loganberry with aspects of cinnamon in the background.


On the palate the wine is very well balanced and medium bodied with nuances of sour cherry, raspberry and strawberry. The tannins are ripe and soft with a

fine, lengthy finish.

The late Jim Barry was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry. He was the first qualified winemaker to work in the Clare Valley of South Australia and with his wife, Nancy, built a successful wine business which has produced trophy-winning wines since its establishment in 1959.
