Aroma

On the nose, the wine is generous and verbose, showing an augmented aromatic profile of perfume, flowers, cranberry and red currants. It shows a backdrop of fine distinction of cigar box, grilled capsicum and black pepper.

Palate

The palate is surprisingly complex and still punching above its weight, with cassis, menthol and eucalyptus flavours dominating. This wine is refreshingly clean with a medium body and fantastic palate presence. This wine shows excellent depth of fruit and great structure.

Cellaring Potential

The tannins are well balanced and supple. Ideal for immediate consumption and short-term cellaring.

He was the first qualified winemaker to work in the Clare Valley of South Australia and with his wife, Nancy, built a successful wine business which has produced trophy-winning wines since its establishment in 1959.
