Made from our Estate Riesling vines planted in 1973, the fruit-bearing canes were cut when the flavours in the grapes were at their optimum. The bunches were then left out hanging on the vines to dehydrate for about 3 weeks, thus concentrating the sugar (17.0 Be°), acid and flavour.

Expert Reviews

Shows some toasty development, lime juice, maybe some thyme-like and floral perfume. It’s slick and concentrated with sugary delivery of limey Riesling flavour, pear and spice. Honey and lime roll on the finish, and while there’s a bit of complexity there, it’s not exactly kaleidoscopic. Good though, especially with lighter, fresher desserts. Rating 90 - Drink by 2019, Gary Walsh, (FEB/2016).

The nose has a floral citrus blossom lift with fruit characters of lemon, lime, pear and apple, complemented by barrel and bottle-aged characters of honey, almond and nougat.


The palate is juicy sweet and smooth, featuring flavours of glazed pear and citrus, creamed honey and nuances of marmalade like bitterness finishing with a crisp clean mouth feel.

Juniper Estate is a producer of premium wines in Wilyabrup, the heart of the Margaret River winegrowing area. It is one of the oldest vineyards in the area. No sub-region has been historically more important in the success of Margaret River than Wilyabrup, where the first vineyards were planted and wineries built and which continues to be home to a disproportionately large number of famous, usually small, vineyards.


Mark Messenger has been the Winemaker at Juniper Estate since 1998. He has responsibility for production of all Juniper wines and is supported by an experienced team in the winery and the vineyard. Mark was Assistant Winemaker at Cape Mentelle, in Margaret River, from 1990 to 1998. Mark’s experience lies in producing premium Margaret River wines, using the best quality grapes, oak and other materials, and that is his mission at Juniper Estate.
