Classification: Gavi DOCG, Pedmont, Italy
This famous white wine from the Piedmont region is the result of the vinification of the Cortese grapes, which are cultivated in Alessandria province.
- ITA - Piedmont
A cool crisp Italian "Bianco" meaning white with subtle but not neutral mild aromas of fresh star fruit, apple, almond and lemon followed by fair depth of citrus floral fruit on the dry and balanced palate and a medium long finish. Has plenty of body to hide the acidity and is less tart than a savvy and not as heavy as chardonnay. Gavi goes well with fish and pesto and seems to be a more exciting proposition that its white stable mate from the same region Arneis. Robert Geddes MW (DEC/2011)
