Hollaia is inspired by the great Sangiovese dominant blends of Italy that fl ew gainst the face of their appellation system by introducing non-indigenous varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon to be blended with the traditional Sangiovese, and became known as Super-Tuscans.

Good crimson hue; sangiovese now accounts for 70% (previously 50%) of the blend; savoury black fruits and sour cherry have the expected structure, especially the extended tannins of the sangiovese. Drink to 2015. Rating 90 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (JAN/2010)
Winery Tasting Notes
70% Sangiovese with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vibrant crimson - cherry red
Raspberry, violets and sour cherry.
An elegant wine with a combination of sour cherry and raspberry fruit flavours with savoury characters of spice and finely balanced oak.
The 2008 Hollaia drinks well immediately, but the structure and balance ensures that time in a good cellar will be rewarded
Pair it with confit duck with white polenta and a red currant or sour cherry jus.
