Overview

Helen’s Hill, a 100% family-owned and operated winery believes that “less is more” when it comes to their Chardonnay .

Bright, fine straw with a green hue, it expresses beautiful complex aromatics of bright nectarine with sea spray perfume and fine oak. It has excellent structure with ripe stonefruit and citrus throughout, cashew-like softness and very long flavours with restrained yet deluxe oak in support.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Truly great wine results from a partnership between the land and the people who nurture it. At Helen’s Hill Estate our 100% family owned vineyard and winery carefully balances traditional values and modern efficiencies to make exceptional cool climate wines.

Our vineyard and wine making philosophy is quite simple: The land and the fruit are in charge – we do all the labor. We are situated off Ingram Rd (not hard to figure out how we came up with the name for one of our ranges of wine) which runs along the southern ranges of the renowned Yarra Valley and we took our name from the late previous owner.

Comprising 150 acres (110 under vine) the vineyard includes 140 seat restaurant (with some of the finest views of the scenic Yarra Valley), Cellar Door, extensive lawn bushland area for our festivals (or just lazing the day away) and state of the art winery.

We take the preservation of our environment very seriously and rely entirely on what falls out of the sky to irrigate our vines. We re-use all restaurant and cellar door waste waters and re-use all winery waste water. In the vineyard we rely heavily on nature and have promoted the growth of certain types of plants. The benefits are two fold; provide a source of natural fertilization to the land as well as attracting certain insects to take care of unwanted pests. Through this process of selective plantings in the mid rows we have dramatically reduce our reliance on fertilizers and sprays.
