In the 16th century the Piedmontese followed their Easter pagan ritual of the questa della uova with a sort of trick or treat where cheerful groups would go from farmhouse to farmhouse singing “non fatemi anadar via senza una bottiglia di Arneis!” (don’t make me go without giving me a bottle of Arneis!)... we have to agree!
Hand picked, whole bunch pressed and left to ferment with wild yeast in old French oak barriques, this Arneis displays classic delicate scents of flowers and fruit with almond nuances and an extra depth of complexity and heightened mouthfeel.

Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, wild-fermented in used French barriques. Has a floral bouquet and a lively, fresh and crisp palate, clear notes of almond and pear; good acidity and length. Arneis is an ancient Italian variety that disappeared in the '70s, but has bounced back. James Halliday, Rating 92, 27th July 2015
