Châteauneuf-du-Pape owes a great part of its notoriety to the arrival of the Popes in Avignon from 1309 until 1403. They decided to choose Châteauneuf as their "summer" residency and developed the vineyards. Since that time, vine-growing has consistently been carried out with great care, giving an example for the constitution of the "Decree of Appellation". The vineyards selected for the elaboration of this Châteauneuf-du-Pape Laurus red have been carefully selected for the quality of their grapes and their terroir with an excellent exposure.
