Overview

Gigondas is a powerful and generous red wine from Southern Rhone region of France. It is remarkably similar to its neighbour Chateauneuf-du-Pape in style, offering a great value of money.

This wine is a blend of Grenach, Syrah (Shiraz) and Mourvedre with a refined red and dark fruits aromas and silky, smooth palate. Serve with your favourite winter meal such as coq au vin or boeuf bougignon.

Colour

Dark crimson in colour.

Aroma

Fine, spicy aromas of black fruits and red fruits, leather and spices such as white pepper, dried herb and liquorice.

Palate

Silky palate, with smooth, but powerufl tannin. The wine shows an excellent length. The wine will age well and become more refined over time.

Food Matching

Serve at 16- 17°C with duck fillet.

The Duclaux Family is one of the oldest in Châteauneuf du Pape. This family built up its domain through the centuries and was one of the first founder members of the appellation association in 1904.

The Quiot and Duclaux families built up bounds and family connections over the years. The last representative of this family, Emmeline Latour, died on 23rd April 2001.Godmother of Florence and Jean-Baptiste Quiot, she bequeated them this wonderful domaine
