Every barrel is tasted 1 year after vintage to select the best Shiraz for further oak maturation as the Reserve Shiraz. The wines are carefully chosen for their intensity and complexity of fruit, mouth feel and the quality of tannins, oak integration, and their overall balance and harmony.

The wine spent 34 months in small oak barrels, and was then denied a screwcap for the sake of a fancy bottle and pockmarked cork. It is an extremely luscious and high-toned shiraz, strongly regional, and suggesting an alcohol level closer to 15%. James Halliday, Rating 93, 26th July 2014
Winery Tasting Notes
The colour is a dark red with great depth.
The aroma really displays the best characteristics of this ripe vintage. It's full of intense red berry fruit, chocolate, earth and leather.
The palate is voluptuous and seductive, initially appearing generous and inviting before revealing the serious structure beneath. Extended maturation both in barrel and bottle before release has allowed the wine to gain some sophistication and grace from what was a very rich and robust vintage.
