The 2008 vintage was sent to test us. This vintage will be remembered for the incredible heat wave that affected South Australia and the challenges associated with it. Early indications pointed towards it being one of the greatest vintages we had seen in McLaren Vale. Good vineyard management meant we were able to process healthy fruit and we now have some excellent wines in our cellar.
This 2008 McLaren Vale Merlot is an elegant stylish wine with strong varietal definition - soft velvety tannins and a palate showing blueberries, red currants and subtle vanillin oak.

Winery Tasting Notes
The colour is a dark red with brick red hues.
The aroma is a complex blend of interesting characters such as mulberry, blackberry, rhubarb, fruitcake and earthiness with some hints of leather and meatiness thanks to some time in oak and bottle prior to release.
The palate is quite tightly structured and shows some great fleshy fruit on the mid palate. Flavours of red berry fruits, rhubarb pie and nutty, cedary oak fill the mouth which tapers gently to a long clean finish.
