The 2007 vintage was influenced by one of the worst droughts we have seen. Consequently yields were down and this of couirse had the effect of concentrating fruit flavours relative to other recent vintages. Late varieties such as Merlot were picked early resulting in tightly structred wines, the low yields have however ensured some high quality wines were made.

Winery Tasting Notes

Typical of the 2007 vintage, the colour has excellent depth and is very dark red with hints od crimson and mahogany.

The wonderful varietal aroma immediaately noticeable while the blend of McLaren Vsale and Coonawarra brings out the best in this Cabernet showing peppermint, violets, leather, black olive, menthol with tasty vanilla and cashew nut chaaracters.

The palate is fresh and tight with firm tannins, well balanced acid finishes on a clean fresh fruit note.
