The Ferryman vineyards are located 50km south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula. Our winemakers ferry the fruit across the bay to the family winery. Scotchmans Hill has been involved with vineyards and making wine from the Mornington Peninsula for over twenty years.
Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed with best free-run juice run to tank. Fermented in tank at cool temperatures and spent 6 months on lees post ferment.
- VIC - Mornington Peninsula
Relatively low yield, hand picking, whole bunch pressing and cool fermentation have produced a wine with above average intensity, although not especially complex; works well. Rating 90 - Drink by 2015 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2014)
Winery Tasting Notes
Lifted perfume, nashi pear and bath salts aromas, citrus notes with a waxy edge.
The palate is full and ripe with pears, citrus fruits and spice. This is balanced by a firm acid backbone to be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
