The 2011 rainfall was slightly below average, with 224 mm from October to April. The dry Spring has also really defined the vintage for Forest Hill with slightly warmer temperatures than average.
Despite this, there weren’t any really hot days (+35 0C), hence acidity levels have been naturally high, and fruit character seems very intense. 2011 is probably closest to 2007, but there are significant differences.

Winery Tasting Notes
Deep red cherry, with purple hues.
Lifted aromas of fresh red and dark berries fruit, with complex characters of pepper, sweet spice and cigar box.
Long and soft mouth feel, with silky tannins giving good support and length.
This wine is certainly enjoyable now; though will age well over the next 3-5 years.
Moussaka of lamb shank with fondant potato and lamb jus. The moussaka of lamb shank adds to the savoury, earthy
undertones in the well balanced Shiraz, as well as complimenting the fine dusty berry tannins in the wine.
