"Cliff Royle is one of WA’s most astute and intuitive winemakers, capturing the essence of Margaret River Cabernet even in his easy-drinking quaffer. Its primary, crunchy blackcurrants taste like cabernet straight out of the fermenter, speaking volumes of the juicy appeal of this warm vintage. Fine, rustic fruit tannins provide some structure to the finish, and will appreciate another six months to get comfortable." Rating 91 - Drink 2013 - 2014 Tyson Stelzer, www.tysonstelzer.com
“Good value wine out of the Flametree stable. Pretty close to the quality of the 2010 release. Smells and tastes varietal. Gravel, bay leaves, blackcurrant and wet earth. A touch of tarriness too. In the mouth it's full bodied and satisfying with a strike of chewy, grainy tannin. Good clobber. Worth the dosh".
