Classic chocolatety McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon – luscious, seductive, luxuriant!
This wine displays all the hallmarks of classic McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon – blackcurrant, chocolate with a hint of herbaceousness delivered on a rich palate of dense, firm tannins. But JR Gantos loves his port, and couldn’t help adding a splash (12%) of Touriga Nacional, which gives a varietal floral lift. St Estephe on steroids meets the Douro!

Mid-crimson; a savoury bouquet showing brambly complexity, red fruits and a spicy note that is thoroughly beguiling; sweet-fruited on entry, spicy to finish and with enough gravelly texture to leave you wanting a hefty hunk of protein. As always thoroughly enjoyable, and a fitting homage to Portugal. Rating 93 - Drink by 2020 - Ben Edwards, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2012)
Opaque ruby. Spice-accented bouquet displays red- and blackcurrant, dried rose and herbs, with a smoky quality gaining strength with air. Fresh red berry and bitter cherry flavors are given sharp focus by a nervy mineral spine. Sweeter on the persistent finish, closing with a whiplash of spicy cherry and smoke. There's no excess fat here. 90 points - Stephen Tanzaer's International Wine Cellar (AUG/2011)
