Focusing on balance, structure and texture, the “Cutting Edge” Cabernet Shiraz is a flavour-packed generous, juicy, ripe berry Cabernet dominating style. Langhorne Creek is renowned as one of Australia’s prominent regions for Cabernet Sauvignon and this wine typifies the classic Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend at its approachable, lengthy best.

Expert Reviews

"A good winery, a strong wine region, two varieties that get along famously......why wouldn't it be good?

This is made by Brothers in Arms in Langhorne Creek, a region renowned for full-flavoured, supple reds. It is a 70%-30% blend and has loads of dark fruit - blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate, yet it has that hallmark approachability of Langhorne Creek wines. Good drinking" Rick Allen. Paramatta Advertiser April 2010

Generous black fruit flavours, the tannins softer than those of the Cabernet, the fruit flavours slightly richer. Honest wine. Rating 89 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (DEC/2009)

Winery Tasting Notes

Grape Varieties

Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Shiraz 30%

Deep purple in colour.

There are attractive blackcurrant and blackberry fruit aromas interwoven with mocha/vanilla and spice characters.

The palate shows mouth-filling dark berry fruit, cedary spice and a touch of chocolate. The persistent length and juicy, textured tannins ensure this wine can be enjoyed over the next 3 – 4 years.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Brothers in Arms has a history of family grape growing spanning five generations, with Guy Adams' family purchasing the "Metala" property 125 years ago and planting the first vines - Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, in 1891.

Langhorne Creek in South Australia lies on the shores of Lake Alexandrina just a few miles from the Southern Ocean and is without question red wine country.

Guy and his wife Liz head up a dedicated team that are proud to produce wines of balance, structure and texture that are true to the Estate and true to the Langhorne Creek region.
