Good colour; mainstream Margaret River cabernet; blackcurrant fruit, cedary oak, ripe tannins and good length, all achieved in a medium-bodied context. Will develop slowly and surely for another decade. Rating 94 - Drink by 2025 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (JAN/2014)
Winery Tasting Notes
Ripe and full, and the lifted ripe red berry, cassis and blackberries overlay hints of chocolate, spice and earthiness. Cedar and savoury notes from the French oak integrate seamlessly with the fruit. HInts of mocha and chocolate add to the beautifully complex nose.
Rich and ripe, yet elegant. This wine has a seamless and full palate that lingers long in the mouth. The luscious up front fruit sweetness dominates the front palate with beautiful notes of lifted ripe cassis and savoury and earthy characters that flow through from the nose. The mid palate structure comes from the perfectly ripe Cabernet fruit with dark cherry notes providing richness. The subtle yet chewy tannin and cedary oak provides delicious length to the wine.
