Overview

Alsace A.C.

Originally named Tokay D'Alsace, then Tokai Pinot Gris, this type of vine is not related to the Hungraian Tokaji which comes from the Furmint type of vine. In reality it is a Pinot from Burgundy that became known in Alsace from the 17th century. The name Pinot Gris is generalised since 2007.

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Clear and bright yellow with golden hue.

Aroma

A classic nose of fresh bread crumb and yellow plums like mirabelle. These aromas is complemented by hints of spring flowers such as acacia.

Palate

On the palate, the wine is charming with a freshness integrataed into a real volume in the mouth. Mirabelle ont he palate as well complemented by fresh herb fragrances. Generous and aromatic on the finish as well.

It is the largest Grand Cru vineyard holder in the Alsace region with 68 ha of vines of classic Alsace varieties of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer in the Grand Cru of Saering, Kitterle, Kessler and Spiegel representing more than half the total Domaine plantings.
