The 2010 - Doc Adams Shiraz – McLaren Vale reflects everything about McLaren Vale, great colour, lasting flavours, a beautiful aging wine.

Outstanding - "Good depth hue; a medium to full-bodied, supple and harmonious Shiraz which won the Trophy for Best McLaren Vale Shiraz at the McLaren Vale Wine Show 12. It's regional expression is effortless, with full range of black fruits, fine tannins and a breadth of dark chocolate. Drink by 2020." James Halliday

Expert Reviews

"The colour is a deep red brick to purple haze, and the aroma is blackberry and spice, with a hint of liquorice all sorts. The lingering finish carries through those same characteristics from the aroma and bouquet. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, this wine will mature wonderfully". The 2010 Doc Adams Shiraz typifies the McLaren Vale region with its rich but soft and approachable on the palate wines. The colour of the wine is nothing short of spectacular. This is what scored the wine very highly and assisted it to go all the way with a Top Gold and eventually a Trophy at the Cartesian McLaren Vale 2012 wine show. Its aroma displays chocolate and mocha entwined with berries and its palate follows through. Rich and velvety but approachable now and indicates to the consumer longevity for the next 7 years. The wine is 3 dimensional and this is how the judges described the wine “Impressive”.

Rating 94 - James Halliday's Wine Companion Magazine (MAR/APR2013)

Winery Tasting Notes

The 2010 DOC ADAMS McLaren Vale Shiraz colour is deep red brick bordering on black.

At first it emits a chocolate and mocha aroma developing into a Christmas cake like waft.

A rich dry red style with sweet grape and fruit flavours. Liquorice with a Christmas cake undertone. There is intensity on the palate with a slight dusty wave developing. This outlines the use of new and old French oak.
